Historic Towns Of America was established in October 2019 during our very first historic excursion to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
The idea of our travel discovery website came about when exploring Gettysburg and falling in love with its history.
We decided then and there, we wanted to do our part to help expand the education and awareness of American history.
During our excursions of America's most historic towns, we discovered that these towns were also home to some of the oldest sites in the Nation.
As a result, we expanded our brand to include the oldest places in America.
The Pennypack Creek Bridge in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (America's oldest bridge) was officially the first oldest site we documented.
The Historic Towns Of America brand expanded once again. This time we added our Notable Mentions category.
While traveling to America's most historic towns and oldest places, we came across some unique sites that were certainly worthy of a notable mention.
Our first site listed as a Notable Mention was Walkway Over the Hudson (formerly named Poughkeepsie Railroad Bridge). It is the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world.
With the popularity of YouTube Shorts growing exponentially, we decided to create our YouTube Shorts account and post our archived videos.
Since then, we have created a YouTube Short whenever visiting a historic location. And as of 2024 we have well over 100 videos for our viewers to enjoy.
Our very first short video was taken during our visit to The Gettysburg National Military Park. That video was converted to a YouTube Short version and posted to the YouTube platform.

Our team of explorers reached an impressive milestone by visiting our 100th historic site! Quite the celebration.
Our 100th visited site was Old Oaken Bucket Pond Dam, the oldest dam in America, located in Scituate, Massachusetts.
The Historic Towns Of America brand expands yet again. Our America's First category was added.
The first historical site to be added to our America's First category was The Salem Maritime National Historic Site in Salem, Massachusetts.
It is was designated as the first National Historic Site in America on March 17, 1938.
Our Historic Towns Of America brand celebrates 5 years in October of 2024!
